I have been a ham radio operator since May 1992 and became a Extra class in 2001. Use to you had to be able show you at least had the minimum requirements to use a ham radio. There is a guy in the Raleigh North Durham area that has a disability which I am sorry he does but he has no clue what he is doing on ham radio. I honestly feel he is in the wrong hobby. I have tried to be nice to him and correct him for years but to no avail, so now I quit. My patient have run out with him and I find it best that I leave the 2 meter and 70 centimeter bands and at least stay on HF for now. I will probably be selling my vhf uhf gear soon on ebay or maybe JARS Fest in November we will see.
