I have been a professional singer now for 38 years plus, I have worked my butt off and generated work and employed and supplied musicians over that time with work many who have been with me upward of 27 years, I believe I have a reputation for being insistent on a level of professional conduct from others that I hold myself to and in some cases I have been considered difficult to say the least and quite frankly Im unapologetic for this as I feel if I employ a professional then its in my rights to expect a certain level of conduct , I have always done my damnedest to pay fees on time but as we all know in many cases fees can be and are at times held up by venues and/or agents that have a slow turn around regarding their payment of fees which has the knock on affect of delaying me being able to pay fees to musicians but I have always kept people in the loop and aware of the situation.....this situation seems to be getting more and more common as Im sure many of my musical colleagues are well aware .....so to have someone express doubt regarding my honesty and not show any understanding of this situation really grates .....this occurred this evening ....to say Im very disappointed, especially when its someone I have tried so hard to make feel welcome and part of my show, is an understatement.......work is becoming harder and harder to generate as we know to keep a show working that employs upward of ten to twelve people that pay fees of $300 plus per gig is stressful and difficult enough these days without copping the afore mentioned attitude. Just had to vent guys
