I have been a strong advocate for early childhood education for nearly 20 years; although this video oozes with cuteness we cant miss whats really going on. If we want to create a strong economy weve got to invest early when the cost are lowest and the return on investment is greatest. Universal childcare is a proven investment that will give us a return of $7 for raeach $1 invested. The belief that we will create jobs just by giving millionaires and billionaires additional tax breaks is absurd. Think about it, your business is making so much money that you are concerned about paying taxes on those profits, you are operating your business at maximum efficiency with minimal employees right now. Suddenly the governement offers you $5 million dollars to create jobs. Do you really rush out and buy more employees? No! You run to Wall Street and invest the money or you move your corporate headquarters to Canada to avoid paying any taxes at all.
