I have been advised not to say this publicly...but do I ever take one? This is for all of you who ignorantly, sincerely or hypocritically extol the anti-corruption war. Im afraid of a sanctimonious president who, in desperation to win the anti-corruption war end up crippling the economy. Many of you with the loudest vocals against this vice wouldnt be where you are if a little govt money here or there didnt leak into your hands! Dirty fact! Now, is it that I am encouraging corruption? Never! Im only asking us not to cripple the economy irreversibly because of our uninformed perception of corruption. If GMB decides to throw the big industrialists to prison many of you will loose your jobs. There are sacred cows everywhere, lets stop deceiving ourselves. Yaradua slowed down Nigerias progress more than any leader in history because he was busy chasing some $16bn . He refused to sign contracts, he achieved virtually nothing in his miserable two years in power because he didnt understand how to fight evil. How admirable the way God deals with them who insincerely seek for glory! This is how to fight corruption...identify the thieves...announce a truce. Promise to pardon those who invest back into the economy and go after those who are bent on privatizing the stolen funds. Show no mercy to contractors who play foul. Be ruthless to those who divert public funds..make the legislators pass new scary laws! Set up a different arm of the judiciary to offer swings judgement....many more measures. Any leader who claims to have no double standard is a learner. You cannot go after Dangote or Otedola and expect economy be same. We need jobs, we need cash, we need good facilities, we need security..anyway this can be achieved...a president does what is productive, not necessarily what is popular cos in the game of corruption, even the servants are more guilty than the masters.
