I have been asked by a couple of friends in the UK, who are intending coming to Israel in the near future, whether or not they should come. This is my reply: Currently THE Iron Dome system is more than adequately protecting central Israel (which includes the Tel Aviv area). Although we are constantly hearing sirens then booms (as the rockets are intercepted and shot down) there have only been very minor consequences of the rockets in the central area. Ben Gurion airport was closed to international traffic for 24 hours by the US air authority - but the the general consensus here is that it was a political move to put added pressure on Israel to cease its operation against the terrorists in Gaza. If you want my honest opinion, I think that you should come - it may be a bit scary at times - but Israel and its people need people such as yourself, to come and support us and not to run scared - as that is one of the hamas intentions in their terrorist war - to scare tourists away. Stand tall and come and enjoy every moment of your visit to this wonderful country.
