I have been asked this week too many times whats your gear list ? for the Elk trip I am about to leave for...Well I got tired of emailing the same thing over and over so I decided to list as much as I could to maybe help someone out who has questions. ( I know I will forget to mention items but this is best as I can remember) My Bow Set-up : 2014 Hoyt Archery: Maker of the Worlds Best Bows Carbon Spyder Turbo set at #65 29DL pushing a 390gr Gold Tip Velocity Pro 400 @ AAE/BJ qwickfletch MaxHunter vanes and Trophy Taker 100 gr Ulmer Edge ( 20g gold tip inserts) , AAE Pro Drop limb driven rest, AXCEL Archery Sights Armourtech HD Pro 7 pin sight ( .10 pins and all but my middle pin are green ) Bee Stinger Extreme Hunter set up with a 10 out front and 10 out the back, T.R.U. Ball Archery HT with V-Lock release, TightSpot Quivers , Firststring Bowstrings 8190x , 1/4 C5 peep All protected by my trusted @SKB case My back up bow ( God forbid something happen ) Is a 2014 Hoyt Factor 30 with same specs ( A complete archery tackle box along with my trusty @LCA Ezgreen press with hitch attachments goes with me EVERYWHERE) My clothing : Badlands Hybrid series, momentum pants/jacket , Element pant/top,Kinetic vest, Impact Jacket/pants, Latitude /Longitude tops, wools socks, rain gear, beanies , 3 Bow Junky hats :) Packs: Badlands Summit, Super day, Bino vault, water bladders. Tent: Badlands Mirage Sleeping Bag: Badlands Caldera , Thermarest pad Boots : I am taking more than needed :) Meindl Mid high, Danner Pronghorn , Keen hiking shoes and North Face all weather hiking boots. The Rest : This trip could last anywhere from a single day to a month long. So its better to be prepared then expensive 100 mile runs to Cabelas to buy needed items left behind. My Tag and Hunters Safety card :) Garmon fenix 2 wrist GPS Casio Pathfinder watch with Altimeter,Barometer, compass 2 20x20 10 ply tarps, 1 forevermade 4 table, I NEVER leave home without my Havilon knives and extra blades or my weatherman Wave. 25gal of emergency diesel fuel The Polaris Ranger is going as a means to assist in packing out what could be three Elk if everyone kills. Also there are many ATV trails along the continental divide near by and as a videographer, I am sure I will want to explore :) Power will be self sufficient so the Honda iu2000 is a MUST. Along with my portable power / compressor incase of a flat tire needed fixed along the 1500 mile road journey. We are taking a couple tree stands and ground blinds due to early season and it may call for long sits over water holes . So HAWK is where we will sit our fannies unless we need to bust out the DoubleBull Blind. No YETI here, just a simple Pelican cooler to keep dry ice for bringing home backstraps. WATER is NOT EVEN AN OPTION. You can not take too much H20 folks.. My ScentMaster boxs are worth their weight in GOLD in my opinion.I even have two of them ( One for me and one for Lindsay) They are so light and mobile that I can take them to camp. Of course my 2015 GMC Durramax 2500 is equipped for a war with my WARN Zeon 10 multi mount winch . My hunting nic-naks consist of everything from my Hawk acc to my knives, face paint , scent killer, Ozonics, carabiners , safety harness, paracord, hatchet , gorilla tape and much more. My Camera Gear: This is a unique hunt. As in I dont hire a camera man :) I am my own camera man. Nick will be there to help film my kill shot and i will film his entire hunt. So light is the key in the mountains at 9000 feet. My self filming camera will be the Canon xa25 with Azden short pro pic and Sen wireless lapel all sitting on my carbon Gitzo mountaineering Glock tripod and manfrotto 500 head. 2 GoPro Hero 3+ black editions , Dji Phantom 2 , Sony PJ540 for handheld footage, another Canon XA25 as a back up and for when I am filming Nick or TJ I will be running the Canon C100 with a Canon 70-200 USM 2.8L ii lens, Sen shotgun mic, Sen wireless lapel, SmallHD DP4 field monitor, Manfrotto 535 Carbon Fiber tripod, Manfrotto 504 half bowl head, Additional lens Im taking for creativity are Canon 14mm 2.8L , Canon 24-105mm 4.0 USM L , Canon 28mm 2.8 and my trusty Canon 5D markii, Kenova slider, Muddy camera arm, Verazoom Steathzoom LANC remotes, Canon timer ect..... Last but certainly not least my Leupold Optics !! I can not say enough about GOOD optics. As a man who makes my living looking through good glass , Leupold is the BEST and most dependable on plant earth. I am taking my spotting scope, McKinley HD 10x42 bins, and RX DNA Rangefinder. Like I stated earlier, I know I am forgetting things but its late, I packed all day and my brain is dead. I ask for your prayers of safety as I live out a life long dream and prayer of Gods hand of protection on my family as I am away. I will check in when I can and try to up load confessionals when I get signal . For those that are headed out on your own adventures at the same time...Good Luck, shoot straight and God Bless you ALL. #COAB
