I have been asked what the difference between the taste of loquats & kumquats. It is strange that the names are so similar (both from China) in yet the fruits are totally different, not even in the same family. W/o getting too technical, kumquats are a citrus fruit, similar to oranges & tangerines, but smaller & you can eat the skin (which is sweet) and the fruit is tart. Loquats are distant cousins to apples & pears, but with less meat & larger seeds.
