I have been awake for some time now, the rain is falling and it is still very dark outside. As I contemplate the surgery that is ahead for you Dorothy, in just a few short hours, I reflect on my own life and realize that nothing I have faced in my life, compares to what you are battling and face today and for the weeks and months to come as you recover and resume your treatments. You have an amazing spirit that is evident in every picture, video and all that you do! I am so proud to call you my Granddaughter. I am trying to fight back the tears as I write this, but I cannot. Dorothy Ann Mishalanie, you carry the name of my Mother, please know that she and so many are watching over you and your team at the Hospital as they prepare to do their jobs today. I love you so very much, as I do all of my family. Stay strong as we all stand beside you and your parents today as we have since your diagnosis. You are in our hearts and mind, confident we will soon celebrate when this day is over and you are safe, out of surgery and cancer free. I have no doubt that your life ahead will be one of great accomplishments, joy and purpose. You are my personal hero and a true inspiration and source of joy to so many. Papa loves you little Angel, my arms are wrapped around you and my heart is full of pride and joy because of you.
