I have been aware of the issues going on in Pastor Chris - TopicsExpress

I have been aware of the issues going on in Pastor Chris Oyakhilomes marriage, thanks to the social media, but I feel these are personal issues that they need to work out between themselves, whether they stay together or get a divorce. I however watched the video below today and was grieved about some fundamental errors in Pastor Chris speech which, for the sake of those who really want to know the truth and be set free, I will mention here: 1. Nobody is exempt from temptation and the possibility of falling into sin, hence the caveat seen in 1 John 1:8-9: If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude and lead ourselves astray, and the Truth [which the Gospel presents] is not in us [does not dwell in our hearts]. If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action]. Even Paul, the writer of majority of the New Testament, stated in Romans 7:21-25 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! No man is free from the fight against sin: In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.(Heb.12:4). 2. Everybody has a calling and none is higher than another in Gods eyes. We all are set on a course unique to each of us. Theres no special course for a Man of God. Heb.12:1 says, Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back, and especially those sins that wrap themselves so tightly around our feet and trip us up; and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us. Let us be careful to go back to scriptures for ourselves, remembering that scriptures line up, precept upon precept and there is agreement in interpretation across several verses. Most importantly, let us each take care to work out (our) own salvation with fear and trembling (Phil.2:12) and not spend time and energy trying to judge other men. We will each account to God for our lives lived here on Earth.....for what we made out of the precious gift of His Son Jesus Christ - did we grow into His image and likeness (Rom.8:29; 2 Cor.3:18)? Did we love God with all our hearts, minds and souls, and love our neighbours like ourselves (Matt.22:37-39)? Did we run our own race and fulfill our own calling/assignment here on Earth?
