I have been challenged by some friends with regards to my update on TAMBUWAL DECAMPMENT in the light of Section 68 (g) of the 1999 Constitution that provides that 68 (1) A member of the Senate or of House of Representatives shall vacate his seat in the House of which he is a member if :- (g) being a person whose election to the House was sponsored by a political party, he becomes a member of another party before the expiration of period for which that House was elected... However there is an exception clause to subsection (g) that reads inter alia provided that his membership of the latter political party is not as a result of a division in the political party of which he was previously a member or of a merger of two or more political parties or factions by one of which he was previously sponsored... There was a division in PDP when the NewPDP was formed. That faction with the likes of Kwankwaso, Amaechi, Nyako etc, merged with APC. Tambuwal has decided at this time to go with the PDP faction that merged with APC. So no provision of the Constitution has been violated by Tambuwal. By the way, can someone please tell the IGP that it is not his duty to INTERPRETE the law but to ENFORCE it? Oga Suleiman Abba, won ma pe yin o ko iti kan yin...
