I have been challenged several times for this wonderful cause, by some very good friends.... I initially took the challenge, doused myself in ice water ((but wore my frogg toggs raingear.... which is sort of cheating)) I then discovered that the reason for the ICE WATER is because it is supposed to simulate the shocking sensation that ALS victims experience. Which is awful. I decided to do the challenge again, in regular clothes this time. It was SHOCKING! My first husband, father of my first son died of ALS at a very young age. Only a small percentage can be linked to genetics, but I still worry about BJ.
