I have been discussing with couple of friends about costs of living the past days. Mainly because of the recent fuel subsidy removal and Bajet 2014 that will be announced today. One of the discussions occurred early in the morning at a Mamak restaurant in front of my office. I had roti telur and teh halia panas that morning. One of them told us, her sister has been working in Cyberjaya earns about RM3,000 after 5 years of working hard. Her parents live in Selayang. While she cant afford to travel back and forth everyday paying tolls and fuel, she is renting a tiny room at the cost of RM800 at one of the condos in Cyberjaya. As i was on and on about it, few of my friends argued complaining will not solve the problem. Quite a number of them cynically suggested me to sell my Toyota Prius as well as my BMW and change them with the more fuel efficient cars. They also mentioned that i dont deserve to complain about it as my line of job is an anti-inflation one. That is true though i must admit i will still be affected by it. When it was time to go and pay the breakfast, the bill was RM3.80 for sekeping roti telur and teh halia panas. I guess i could settle for sekeping roti gardenia in the car from now on every morning.
