I have been encouraging folks for over a year to read Kurt Vonneguts prescient short story Harrison Bergeron. As most good satire is based on hyperbole, so is this. Unfortunately, the Progressive outcry against all sorts of inequality make us wonder if Vonneguts story is not as far fetched as one may think. The truly prescient Bradbury work, Fahrenheit 451 is becoming more of a reality every day. Everything worth speaking or reading or honest debate of any kind is OFFENSIVE to someone. Harvard and other universities are putting warning labels on books to advise students that they might be offended by such stories as Huckleberry Finn, 1984, To Kill a Mockingbird and other books we once thought worthy. This story goes right along with the one I posted regarding a non-competitiveield day.
