I have been frustrated by my tower this week. I need to run - TopicsExpress

I have been frustrated by my tower this week. I need to run Quickbooks for my business, but QB is such a pig that I have to close everything, reboot, and open only QB to get it to run smoothly (I can sometimes run some music alongside, but its touchy). The specs are ambiguous, but general consensus is that the motherboard is incapable of taking more than 4GB of RAM, and it came with its current 3. Which would be fine, if I didnt try to run Quickbooks when the machine has an uptime of four weeks or more. While pondering my next move (after I take the unsuccessful 4GB stick of RAM back to Frys) I did some research; no BIOS update can lift the restriction even under 64-bit Windows, a motherboard upgrade is not really practical, and really, truly, 4MB is the limit for this machine. So I went shopping. I mean hell, I need more memory to run my business, and itll blow my budget at any time, so why wait? I just bought this guy. I like HPs (I know, dirty little secret of mine), and I usually buy refurbs as I find them both cheap and reliable. The hardware specs are impressive for the price ($189), all of them being a step up from my current machine. After scouring the details, I finally discovered why its so cheap: theyre skimping on the OS. The processor is 64-bit capable, but theyre bundling 32-bit Win7. Totally correctable, at least... I do want Win7, but even if I bought it new at $75, Im still far ahead of the $400+ Im seeing for comparable machines. So I think Im good. Anybody got an extra Win7 64-bit key lying around?
