I have been going between this album and Call of the West, and all I can say is: how did I overlook this band back in the ’80s? They were awesome, way ahead of their time, like a cross between the not-known-as-of-yet Industrial Music and some kind of New Wave/Western Music. I don’t often care for electronic drum machines, but somehow this works well with a live drummer adding to it. And the Western guitar riffs also somehow work wonderfully with the eerie synth accompaniments. And not to leave out the vocals and lyrics of Stan Ridgway—there was no one like him, much better than the so-called legendary “Johnny Cash” he emulated. youtu.be/UN_aCII9sq4
