I have been guiding the Charleston area for almost 20 years, and today was the best top-water redfish bite that I have ever seen!! in all the wrong conditions - clear, calm, bright sun. I dont even know how many we caught. I ended up taking the hooks off of a Zara Spook and got the redfish so fired up that 5 or 6 of them would fight over it all the way to the boat. I would get 15 or more blow ups PER CAST! This happened for almost 2 hours in a foot of super clear water. My client would cast a soft plastic in behind my hookless spook and hook up over and over, bait & switch. Watching those fish attack the hookless lure over and over was just about as fun as it gets!
