I have been home and not feeling well this week. Yesterday I felt well enough to fix Dave some fried potatoes and pork chops. He fixed a plate and sat down to eat and I went to check out FB...So sitting in our home office I smell something burning. I yelled to the kitchen, Dave are the burners off? I smell something burning? To which he replies, I dont smell anything So I sat at the computer for a few minutes more...and then I can really smell it and I swear I think I see smoke in the hallway. Sure enough...I get up and go to the hallway and there is smoke...so I go into the kitchen and Dave is sitting at the table eating as if nothing is wrong..LOL and I grab up a smoking pan of fried potatoes...the spatula had melted to the bottom of the pan! I laughed and said, Rome burned while Niro played his fiddle...LOL and our Kitchen burned while Dave ate his pork chop! *** OK it gets better*** Today we had another kitchen disaster! I made him a grilled cheese sandwich to go with his chili (for work)..and I didnt turn off the burner. I had reheated and set a bowl of steak and gravy on the counter and was in the process of reheating a bowl of mashed potatoes in the microwave. I asked him to stir them and see if they were ready...they were ready so he set them on the stove burner and melted to bowl to the stove...more smoke and bad smells coming from the kitchen! And as I was cleaning up that mess I discover he totally missed the lima beans he was supposed to eat with the steak, gravy and potatoes. Pretty save to assume he will be having Subway tomorrow.
