I have been honored to have gathered the support of so many of you during the course of the campaign. From educators and administrators to realtors and builders to parents and grassroots supporters alike, you all joined up to say we wanted a different someone with a different vision working for our students and for our schools. That message was heard loud and clear, and we won an astounding 48% of the vote in the June primary election. This was something that many people said couldnt be done in a crowded field of candidates. Now I need your help one more time on July 15th to set a new course for our schools. A key focus of my plan for Madison County schools is running a system which operates in an open, honest, and transparent manner, seeking input from parents, faculty, staff, administrators, the community, and stakeholders in order to operate in a fiscally responsible manner. This needed level of focus has been lacking in our school system for too long, and I will work tirelessly to restore parents knowledge of and input in the decisions of the county school system.
