I have been known, on occassion, to make up words and phrases when talking to the kids. I think I may have gone too far... Scene - Getting into a freezing car on way back from Alyssas dance: Brody - Holy smokers, it is freeze butt (a derivation of the term Freeze Butt Weather - ie it is cold in here) Alyssa - It sure is woldy (woldy, a derivation of the phrase coldy of a woldy ie it is cold in here) Brody - Daddy-wan (Daddy-wan, a derivation of the term Daddy-wan-kenobi, a Jedi thought to have perished in Episode 3 but rumoured to have survived and living in Ancaster), when we get home Mom said I have to have a show-show (rhymes with ow-ow, a derivation of the word shower), play for 3 and then night night (ie go to bed). Alyssa - Bro, what are you going to play when we get home. Brody - Mapes vs Habbers (ie Maple Leafs vs Canadiens). Dad, The Kess and The Lupes (Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul) are gonna get shut out by Price and PK (PK Subban). PK is going to get 3 Hat Tricks (ie 9 goals)... This type of conversation continued for the remainder of the 5 minute drive. The fact that they use this conversation as if it normal is quite amusing and a bit scary!!
