I have been looking at this Ferguson thing over the last few days - TopicsExpress

I have been looking at this Ferguson thing over the last few days and really didnt understand why some people are so hard out defending the cop to me. Then it came to me; over the last years Americans have been conditioned by their government via media into a mindset that considers it perfectly OK to shoot someone as a solution to a problem, rather than being able to work things out. It becomes more understandable when looked at in proper context. In New Zealand the population is somewhere around 4 million. When I was younger it was 3 million.....about the same number as the prison population in US! When a prison population gets that high and US is starting more wars and conflicts than any other nation on Earth, you have to take that as an indicator. Now there are people who would say that is perfectly ok.....the US is the Worlds Policeman but that doesnt wash with me. What gives you the idea we need your police?! Or armies?! Nope, I would say the US now is too damn scared to stop invading and conflicting and occupying in case the dime flips and people from overseas start wanting to get their revenge for all the innocents killed, for all the war and conflict. But essentially it is a corrupt government and sadly their media programming has influenced the people to such a degree many people do not even perceive that their mindset HAS been changed. Comes along an even such as Ferguson and suddenly it becomes evident that there are a lot of people who are happy to stand up and say Yeh! Shoot the dumb ass! A few twists and turns later and these same people will be eating their fellow human beings and saying Hmm....a bit salty today. We should buy it at that store across town...its cheaper there too! As a final note, fortunately there are some who still see that the idea of decency and communication should also extend to police duties and that perhaps police should be a little more caring and understanding. Which camp are you in?
