I have been making this point for like the past 8 years. I always say that it seems like more often than not suburbanites, middle to upper class people, dont share... they say I work so I can buy what I want. Its mine. You want some get a job and go buy your own. . But people living in poverty or people that are considered low class will more often than not share the last of what they have. I remember communing with a band of homeless for two weeks and when one person got a case of soda, it was for all to drink, no one had to ask because everyone knew it was communal and not to be greedy. However when a middle-upperclass person actually takes leftovers home, they will write their name on the box and let it spoil in the fridge before they share with a household roommate, family member, or a hungry person on the street. Typical mindset of suburban keeping up with the joneses character type folks.
