I have been meaning to post a prayer request and I keep forgetting. As some of you may know, I was rear ended on the way to school last April. I received a 3rd degree whip lash along with a mild brain injury, which was later diagnosed as post concussion syndrome. I have struggled with constant headaches, memory loss, and attention (or lack there of) and other cognitive problems. Thankfully the headaches, memory and a lot of the cognitive problems are getting better. An ulcer formed on my foot shortly after my accident. I have not had any problems with ulcers on my feet since before my leg surgery 2 ½ years ago. My orthopedic podiatrist says that I am having muscle spasms in my leg that is causing my foot and heel to turn in which is causing me to walk on the outside of my foot which in turn causing the ulcer to form. This is all being attributed to my brain injury. I will be having surgery this Friday, October 17th at 12:30 pm to fix all of these problems. Following the surgery I will be in a cast for six weeks, so I will be non-weight bearing and unable to drive. This has all been very difficult for me and my family, but I am really trying to see God’s blessings in my life. God has blessed us is in so many ways, so I will only name a few. From the very beginning, God made sure I saw the doctor when I needed to (I wasn’t going to go to the doctor the day of the accident and Chris insisted that I go), God has provided me with the best doctors in all the specialties I needed and our friends are helping us with childcare and meals after my surgery. Please pray that the surgery goes well, that there are not any complications and that everything runs smoothly during my recovery.
