I have been mostly outta commish for the most part for over a week because I had a bad allergic reaction to second hand e-cigarette vapor. I found out this last year Id developed an intense cigarette allergy. Its hard to say which is worse. My swollen throat almost took me to the emergency room. I can now swallow some, but Im still healing up. If you smoke or vape, please literally keep about 50 ft from me if youd like me to be comfortable and able to breathe, talk, and swallow right for the following week or more. I have multiple friends who smoke and I dont think anyone knows exactly how bad this stuff affects me. Ive been in cars with friends smoking with their windows down and then been up all night wretching afterwards but I didnt see the use in hurting their feelings so I didnt mention it until this public announcement. Im not going to get in cars or socialize around smoking anymore. I cant. I might become a hermit but at least Ill be able to talk, breathe, and eat. Please dont ask if rolling the windows down or turning on a fan will help when youre in a car with a non smoker. It doesnt. That said, I know smokers are unaware of this, and Im not mad at you. Just the damn habit you have that affects me every time I walk down a city street. Walking past smokers equals me needing to hold my breath. Ok, rant over!
