I have been noticing a trend, and I refuse to fall prey to it. We seem to live in a society where it has become acceptable to pay more money for lesser service; to be content with the explanation that things are different now, and just not how they used to be. I am always dismayed when I hear a story of someone who goes into a store, a restaurant, a healthcare facility, a school, has a question or an issue, and either the proverbial buck is passed (and thus the problem not solved), or the person is totally ignored. Mediocrity has become accepted for a job well done. Nobody should expect perfection, as that is unrealistic. But what is wrong with expecting that a person does what is supposed to be done, that a job GETS done, that expectations are met, that good service is provided? In other words, what has happened to integrity, standards, or basic human kindness, caring, honesty, and compassion? Friends, I ask you, take a stand against this! This should not be the way things are. How can we expect our children to excel in this crazy society if we do not expect, and set, the right example? Treat others kindly, ALWAYS do your best, do not settle for less than the best, do not think it is okay if a job is only half done. Be diligent in leading the way in promoting a job well done, in all aspects of your life. In other words, walk the walk, talk the talk, and strive for goodness. If we all do this, then perhaps others will catch on!
