I have been offered the very exciting job of organising a Rui Almeida clinic. I am putting some feelers out to see how many people might be interested? I am thinking Aintree equestrian centre, september october time? Please comment or pm me if your interested! Here some info and pictures of Rui 😊 Rui Almeida, born in 1971 has ridden since early childhood, starting his equestrian life in the arena of Miguel Quina. He followed on to begin riding with Master Nuno Oliveira at Quinta da Brejo and would spend most of his holiday time there. Throughout his teenage years and early twenties Rui rode under the tutilage of Pedro Baptista de Almeida, veteran pupil of Master Nuno Oliveira, at Portugals National Lusitano studfarm, where he rode many of the great stallions there. In 1989 Rui became a professional rider after being invited to work as a trainer at Europes largest Lusitano stud farm located near Lisbon, Portugal. Here he would remain for over twenty years, ten of which as Chief Rider. Dr Filipe Graciosa, ex Head Riding Master and Director of the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art (EPAE) invited Rui in 2001 to join the School as a Rider, where he is now based full time. Rui has participated in all of the major shows and displays with the School to date, including the prestigious 4 Schools shows in Paris (held in 2007 and 2012). Rui Almeida also shares the responsibilty of Head Trainer, together with his wife, professional rider Jenny Ameida, at Morgado Lusitano, near Lisbon, Portugal. Ever keen to learn and improve his knowledge and riding ability, Rui Almeida has been a pupil of many highly respected riders including Master Nuno Oliveira, Pedro Baptista de Almeida, Dr Filipe Graciosa (ex Chief Rider EPAE), Master João Pedro Rodrigues (Chief Rider EPAE) and Portuguese Olympic rider Carlos Pinto. 2006 saw the first dressage clinics held by Rui in Sweden, many have subsequently followed in Germany, Spain and England. Rui Almeida is a certified Trainer with the Portuguese Equestrian Federation (FEP) which is recognised by the FEI (Internation Equestrian Federation), license number 56880. He is also an official National Breed Judge with the Portuguese Lusitano Breed Association (APSL). Heather Moffett
