I have been on this train for about 22 hours. I take this train all the time to get home. On this train ride I constantly read smart Facebook posts, ignorant Facebook posts and read tons and tons of articles you would not believe about Ferguson and about Black Friday protests (it did NOT originate from slave selling just an FYI.) Pent up with anger and depression, wondering how we can tolerate living in a world where we judge literally by the shade of skin and not judge of character and feeling absolutely disgusting about this country, i realize that my train has stopped for over 45 mins. A train attendant comes in and tells us the train ahead of us has hit and killed someone and that all of the train rails are shutting down. Instantly i take back everything I say and remind myself how absolutely thankful I am to be who and where I am. Yes this country is flawed, it was built upon a flawed system. Just like us the system isnt perfect because we are not perfect. Yes the human race is flawed. Were a flawed species, as I have I just said. But at the end of the day. We are here. The fact that Im able to post a status about this is incredible. I think my main point is yes, be angry. Be passionate. FIGHT for what you believe in with your whole heart and dont let anyone stop you because no one can, but also be happy and grateful for you who are you and that you are alive. I know we all know. But sometimes I think we forget because we are so caught up in the moment. So take a moment to breathe, say I love you to people and continue to be the fierce and vivacious souls that all of you are. Thats what Im thankful for this year. My corny rant is done. But truly, thank you ALL. Every single one of you make me better everyday. Happy Thanksgiving. Carpe Diem. Seize The Day.
