I have been part of the Madison family for 37 years...I walked in - TopicsExpress

I have been part of the Madison family for 37 years...I walked in the building at the age of five and I never left. I manuvered my way through the halls of that school as a child, a teenager and now an educator. My parents and aunts and uncles went to school there. My grandfather was the school board president at one time. I went to school with my now husband. Our three children are now part of that inner circle. I have made many, many friendships along the way. Some of my favorite teachers are now my peers, my friends. I have met amazing students that have touched my life as much as I hope to have touched theirs. Madison is like a revolving door. Like me, I have many students who are connected to the school because their parents or grandparents went to school there. The school has grown tremendously, almost unrecognizable. People grow up and move away but it amazes me how when we lose one of our own how many people from all social circles come together to offer their sincerest sympathies. I have read post after post from Madison alumni offering condolences to the family of Shaun McLemore; another Madison fixture, along with the Mclemore crew that ran the halls of Madison school. They didnt need to know him personally, but they could see that people were grieving so they offered their prayers. It truly is nice to be in a place where I can make connections with so many special people. People that will offer their hand in a time of need.
