I have been praying a lot asking the Lord for revival in the Church. The Lord has been speaking to me a lot lately about the importance of saturating ourselves in his Word. He has been showing me that the Word is Jesus and when we saturate ourselves with the Word we are “In Christ” And “Christ is in us” When we saturate ourselves with the Word we are filled with the Holy Spirit. We can’t be filled with the Holy Spirit without being filled with the Word of God. I believe he is trying to show me that in order to receive revival this is how it will come. Today He showed me an object lesson about this… Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. In order for a caterpillar to change from a worm to a butterfly, from crawling along on the ground in the dirt, not moving very far or fast and looking creepy to a beautiful creature that can spread its wings and fly to unknown heights and distances, it must do something. God does not do it for him. A caterpillar spins a cocoon around itself, it does not automatically receive a cocoon, they do it themselves they spin and spin until they are completely incased in the cocoon protected from all things around them. This is the way we should cocoon ourselves in the Word of God. We should block out distractions such as Secular TV, movies, books, music, video games and anything that distracts while we wrap ourselves in the Word. We do this by reading, hearing, studying, memorizing, praying (listening more than speaking)and meditating on God’s Word. As we do this God begins to show us things that we wouldn’t otherwise see in his Word without God showing us. While soaking inside this cocoon we are becoming more and more like Christ! When our time of transformation is over we will come out as beautiful as a butterfly! We will be able to float, fly and soar on the winds; we too will be a miracle of God! But WE must choose to wrap ourselves in the cocoon of God’s word and God will do the transforming because Jesus is the word and we are wrapping ourselves in Him. Once we are transformed by the Word we will be in personal revival and others will see the transformation and want it for themselves and the desire for this transformation and it will spread until we are in full world revival! Ephesians 4:22-24 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 5:26-27 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. This transformation is not something that just happens just because we have asked Jesus to be our Lord and Savior. We must do our part and saturate or wrap ourselves in Jesus, the Word of God!
