I have been reading a book by Gloria Gaither and this chapter is about Dez Dickerson who is a talented musician, writer, producer and former guitarist for Prince. On Dec 29th, 1986, Dez received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and a renewal peace and direction in his life. He talks about his family and the encouragement he had from them. In this chapter he writes that Jesus is the Healer, and the Holy Spirit is the comforter. It is the washing of the Word that makes us both clean and whole, and that same Word renews our mind day by day when we give ourselves, our values, our attitudes and our perspectives over to it. God has provided us with a blueprint for vital, healthy, and successful living, and anyone who is born again has access to the power source that enables us to follow His plan. For those who have received Christ, all things have been made new, and we are marvelous, new creations. A newborn baby is not hindered by his past because he has none--and neither do we. The most damaging and traumatic of childhood experiences need not prevent the believer from being an excellent and Godly parent. The Lord Himself is our model. Amen!!
