I have been reading the Old Testament this year. I am currently in the book of Isaiah. Many people, including our President, have really dismissed this important work of scripture - citing some of the ancient laws and rituals as archaic. They fail to realize the covenants that God set with His chosen people - the similitude given of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Ceasing to believe that our God is still a God of miracles. Drawing near to him with their lips, yet denying the authority of Him who created us. In the Old Testament there were wars in Assyria and armies gathered around ancient Israel to destroy it. When the Israelites, or their leaders, strayed from Gods path then they often suffered defeat and scattering. However, when they acknowledge and worshipped God then He would fight their battles - even sending one angel to slay 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. Our world is dangerous and our society has strayed; but it is never too late to turn to the Lord. He will defeat any army foolish enough to rise up against Him. Let us all pray that the United States will forever remain loyal to God. The scriptures, ancient and modern, testify of His greatness - and are as relevant today then at any other time in human history.
