I have been reflecting on this question: How strong could America be if all our politicians spread peace and unity in all of their private and public conversations? At first I lamented to myself, Well, given our current political climate, a goody-two-shoes like that wouldnt get elected in the first place. (And then I confronted my own jaded attitude toward our politicians.) But this question kept speaking to me... so I revised it: How strong could our influence be in our communities if all Christ-followers spread peace and unity in all of their private and public conversations? Rarely does disunity arise from direct, open conversation, even when there is meaningful disagreement. Most disunity and fear are spread by innuendo, grumbling, and casting a negative shadow on others. Take this challenge: Intentionally spread peace and unity in all your private and public conversations.
