I have been running 2 years in VFFs and doing awesome. Have felt great. Have been increasing mileage (slowly) all summer in prep for a 1/2 at end of sept. No problems with feet at all. Ran the Bourne 10K (46:30) Aug 30th and hurt my foot with a mile to go but still finished. Went to ER down cape and doc said Xray showed 3rd metatarsal stress fracture. At home saw specialist and he took another xray and it showed no fracture. He is going to check again in 2 weeks. Foot still swollen and still hurts to flex it. Im wondering how to better train when this gets heals??? Any suggestions? Did I just run too fast? Do I need to build up even more slowly than I did? In terms of cardio and leg strengh I dont feel like I was pushing it in my training nor in the 10K.
