I have been sad for Abbey today. Not just because of her health issues, but because of mean things that have been said about her. She does not deserve to be talked about like this. Not only did she not walk or talk for 2 days, she suffered an excruciating headache that lasted 4 days, extreme weakness, confusion, tingling in her face and extremities, the smell and taste of blood and many other things with this concussion. We did not know what was causing this and it was scary. A friend of mine reminded me tonight of the physical pain that Abbey has endured throughout her volleyball career. She has a complete fracture in her lower back (dont know how it happened), she has had deviated septum surgery, she has been hit in the throat 2x causing bleeding and hoarseness, has a severe concussion and has other health issues that are private. I am so proud of Abbey and everything she has accomplished. She has endured a lot of pain that no one even knows about. She is dedicated, a team player, and a dang good athlete. Shes also a great student! Her volleyball career is over and she knows it. Shes mature enough to know that this is all part of Gods will and He has an amazing plan for her life. I would also like to add that Abbey has the best friends and boyfriend that any girl could have. She is very blessed.
