I have been seeing a lot of negative stories about mothers breastfeeding in public. Here is my take on that. I breastfeed my child. No supplementing. I pump as much as I can to save up but I tend to only produce enough to feed her which prevents me from being able to store extra breast milk to bring with me on the go. And I know this will come as a shock to some people but I am actually pretty modest. I am very top heavy so there is no way for me to breast feed without showing a large portion of my breast and Ella WILL NOT eat if she is covered. Bc of this, I always go to my car to feed her if I need to Bc I refuse to go sit on a public toilet to feed my child. If I HAD no access to my car and had to breast feed in public I would use a blanket to cover the swell of my breast the best I can to where all you can see is a babys head. Which makes me think, maybe they should invent a cover that only exposes the nipple which the baby will be latched onto. I surely dont want to whip my breast out in public and since I have yet see a decent restroom with a sitting area, well I guess I am just screwed if I dont have already expressed milk in a bottle. So if you see me breastfeeding in public and get offended, know it was my only option and I will be doing whatever I can to be discrete without suffocating my child who will not eat covered. After all these years and as many issues that have come up around this subject, you would think they would have more places that have breastfeeding friendly areas....
