I have been sick to my stomach all night with the reports of what happened in Ferguson. As if I havent been sick enough that it was a 100 day wait. Mike Brown was unarmed. He was surrendering. And Darren Wilson felt the need to shoot him six times. Yet he is getting off with a lot of money. And no jail time. For committing murder. There is real footage of witnesses explaining what had happened while Mike Browns body lay in the street. For four in a half hours. This disgusts me. And it hurts me that this man who shot an 18 year old boy was not brought to justice. What kind of world are we living in? It pains me to say it, but if the races were reversed, and Mike Brown was white, and Darren Wilson was black, the judge would be on the kids side. Why is color an issue? Why has it ever been, and why is it still? No one chooses the color of their skin. No one chooses the way they were born. We are all equals. All of us. And when someone commits murder... I just thought we lived in a better country. I recorded this while trying not to cry, its the song from Mockingjay. Its incredibly fitting for these events, and I recorded as a solidarity. I will forever support Mike Brown and his family. And this is simply a way for me to publicly do so.
