I have been sorting thru some papers, hunting out some family tree info for family living away from here. Appropriate for Fluorspar Festival week, a few nights ago, I ran across a copy (I guess more a transcript - not a photo copy) of a document signed by my grandfather, Merida Franklin Stanford when he was Mayor of Rosiclare. It was the Charter issued by the City of Rosiclare permitting the operation of the tram that ran on tracks that used to run down Main Street from the mines to a loading facility on the riverfront.
