I have been thinking about how the belief in God as a trinity effects a persons life. Ive been wondering how important is it that we understand that Jesus is not GOD. Sometimes I think it is more important how we live our lives than what creed we hold to, but then again, what we believe has a profound effect on how we live. So if we believe God to be something other than what He has actually revealed Himself to be, is that not reflected in how we worship Him, and therefore, how we live (whether we are actually pleasing God)? Jesus said that God is Spirit and His worshipers must worship in Spirit and in truth. If we insist that people must accept a creed which is not explicitly spelled out in the Scriptures (i.e. the trinity), then are we not adding our own interpretation as a requirement for worshiping God in truth?
