I have been thinking about my Great Uncle Tom Braswell today. He was the son of Matt and Louisa Savanna Clark Braswell. Grandson of Thadeus Braswell and Mary Jane Webb. Grandson of Douthard Clark and Rebecca Braswell Clark. Uncle Tom never married, but lived a life doing what he loved to do. He loved photography, I can see him all dressed up walking down the road heading to the camera clinic on Grandfather Mountain. He did not drive. Developed his own pictures in his dark room. He had sheep and he did taxidermy in his spare time. He lived in his mothers homeplace until he died with no running water. He would tell me and all my cousins stories about peep frogs over in the swamp. I would see Uncle Tom daily when he would walk to our house and look at the Asheville paper. Listening to his voice today brought back memories. Good ones. I loved my Uncle Tom.
