I have been thinking about the campaign to not send our students - TopicsExpress

I have been thinking about the campaign to not send our students to TCAPS schools on count day to protest the bullying incident at East Middle School, for several days. While I appreciate that these families are trying to bring attention to a big problem, I feel that this is not the correct way to go about it. I think that getting involved in the Anti Bullying efforts already underway or by attending school meetings you would be able to help all students in a much more effective and appropriate way. My children have both had incidents with bullying at school. As a parent, I took appropriate measures, meetings with all involved, and training for my children to know how to better handle bad situations. It is my opinion that this effort is a form of bullying in itself. They are bullying the administration into taking a stance. What is this teaching our children? In my opinion, not the right thing. I know that some of you will not agree with me, and that it all your right, but please thoughtfully consider what you choose to do to rectify a situation.
