I have been thinking about what to do with the vast empty backyard that came with my new house. Apparently having a modest-sized house on a large piece of land was common here in the 1920s. At first I was thinking of just planting the whole thing in grass and keeping a goat back there. However Ive decided that I am going to create a replica of my Taiwanese Grandmothers (RIP) garden back in Tainan, Taiwan. It will be a living tribute to the life of a woman who raised a huge family during a very turbulent period of history on the island. It will also represent the on-going respect for my ancestors. I know the layout of the garden with my eyes closed. It has an amazing koi pond and lots of fruits trees.
