I have been thinking alot lately of a viable contingency plan in case this campaign fails. With the all-or-nothing approach of crowdfunding, as well as the reality of our current financial situation made clearer this week, I dont see one, save for cancelling the campaign as it is. By doing so, all pledges would be void, and no donations exchanged. If the individuals who pledged remain dedicated to helping us achieve our goals of getting this Calendar released, and in effect give us a fighting chance to build a viable future, I could instead have the pledges sent to my Paypal account, and still offering the same rewards from the Kickstarter campaign for donations. With the donated money, I could get a smaller run of Calendars printed up immediately. The income from that smaller initial release would help fund another larger printing. Our current campaign with Kickstarter, as it stands, has more than a mountain to climb in order to succeed, and if it falls short even $10 of the goal, we will receive nothing. We would also be a month closer to 2015, and the months of work I spent personal designing this Calendar will be put off for the second time until 2016. I want to be an optimist, but in this case I think it is best to be a realist. I want to take a course of action that will be the most beneficial for my family. Please let me know what you think.
