I have been tossed another curveball. My back has relapsed. I am not back to square 1, but. it is once again at excruciating levels. Im back to using all of my pain relieving gadgets, ice, heat, TENS, cane, and brace. Im very weary of seeking treatment because doctors are reluctant to order an MRI. VA policy (namely that contract I sign every year) dictates that I cannot seek treatment for pain anywhere else. Not to. mention that every time I have ever asked a doctor to consider switching to another formula or a different dose, Ive been treated like a drug seeker, and it has backfired. So thank you lawmakers for tying doctors hands. Thank you doctors for placing the agenda of people who make laws before the well-being of your patients. Thank you media for setting that agenda by demonizing all short-term methods of treating pain because dumb asses crush up timed-release pills, and inject/snort them and die. Thank you junkies for creating the assumption that all people being treated for pain are junkies. Thank you to the people who have no idea what it is like to have the nerve that runs from the lower back to the big toe pinched between a herniated disc and a vertebrae for fighting the good fight for our children. Most of all, thank you insurance companies for declaring the most effective means of relief I have ever known (traction) to be experimental, and therefore not covered. Im going to make it through this, but it shouldnt have to be this hard. I wouldnt wish my current circumstances on my worst enemy.
