I have been trying to finish watching the second season of Newsroom with Jeff Daniels. One disc to go. It is so good it makes me laugh. I know that sound silly, but when you stop to think about all the obstructions intended or inadvertent in producing something that involves the cooperation and collaboration of many, many people, it really does seem miraculous when it works, not just well, but almost divinely. I guess I laugh because somehow they got away with it...doing something spectacular despite the countless things that might kill it before it gets a chance to shine. I almost forgot what I wanted so say before shutting down. But, no, I do remember. Ive written two short essays and a number of character sketches at the Food court during the last couple of days. Insights and connections too numerous to name here. Suffice to say that you just never know what you might learn if you just pay attention, and ---write it down if you can, so you will be reminded later about what you have noticed right under your nose, that up till now has been invisible. That kind of day. I remember Jimmy Durantes routine would go...Stop The Music,. and I Got a Million of them!
