I have been un-friended by various people for not being Politically Correct. To me there are NO sacred cows, and NO ox un-worthy of being gored. I can respect many cultures, nations and species, but I will still acknowledge their flaws. It is similar to when everybody was into East Indian this that and the other, the peace and karma thing. Totally ignoring how despicably the various sects treated each other. What we did with black slavery and destruction was despicable. But please remember that slavery was endemic in Africa before the white man. And what are blacks doing to blacks now? What we did to the first nations, and are still doing is despicable. But please remember that native warriors existed in all the tribes, before the arrival of the white man. I wonder why they had warriors? Perhaps to fight each other? And as far as all Indians totally respecting the land...well yes they did, far more then we do, since the were totally in touch with it, and far more dependent on a subsistence level then we. However on many an occasion they totally destroyed local species, and the land, and removed themselves from that particular landscape. White Europeans, I dont have to go there. It is my shame that they are my ancestors, and current racial/social group. I love the big cats. But, perhaps people should look at how they survive (if they are to survive), they catch and eat cute little antelope, often eating them alive. I am a realist, and call a spade a spade, when I see it. If I am wrong, show me or prove it. I have been accused of not having respect for XYZ. RESPECT is seeing something for what it truly is, the good, bad and indifferent. Acknowledging the beauty and the warts. To put ANY group on a pedestal is as bad as demonizing it. Neither is reality, nor truth.
