I have been way more affected by Robin Williams passing than I - TopicsExpress

I have been way more affected by Robin Williams passing than I ever expected. Am I grief-stricken? No. But reading all the tributes, learning how great the man was, it makes it seem as if the world got quite a bit darker since his passing. Sure, dude was funny, quick-witted, and a comedic genius, but thats not what appeals to me. It was his generous spirit and giving nature that struck an internal chord with me. My goal in recent years has been to become the best person I can be, to have the biggest positive impact on this world as I can, and to simply be remembered as, man, that dude Tom was a cool cat, he did a lot of good, and his presence will be missed. Thats what Mr. Williams achieved, and what I aspire to achieve. I want to change the world, and when I leave, for those changes to endure, much like how Robins movies and his spirit will endure. Most people are completely unaware of the personal stuff Ive been battling, but Robins final story really spoke to me. Not in Morks voice, not as Mrs. Doubtfire, but as a fellow human being who was also battling internal demons. Well all miss you, Robin. Because you were funny and charming, but more importantly, because you were simply a good man. A man who, despite his issues, managed to change the world. And if you can do it, then maybe I can too.
