I have been with my Husband for 16 yrs and i have asked him a million times about his family background and what nationalities we was. I always got the answer im a mutt and that was it. Last year i decided i was going to research his family tree. starting at zero he knew nothing except his father was born in N.Dakota and his grandfathers name who he had not spoken too in over 15 yrs. I went to ancestry and started my research after 2 or 3 days i was finding alot of info but nothing filling in the blanks. So out of curiosity i just Googled the last name!!!! Holy Family tree!!!! comes to find out my mutt of a husbands family were part of the colonization of America! i found extensive family trees done by very prestigious universities ( Harvard, Yale, Michigan) dating back to the 1600 when they 1 st stepped for on american soil.2 family members were governors of Conn . I was amazed! i even found out that there is a scholarship at Harvard university ( oldest private scholarship in america) That my children are eligible for. It was set up back in the 1600by my husbands Great Uncle x13.......so if your spouse, friend partner or anyone says they are a mutt look into it. They may be a purebred! by the way no one in the family knew any of this, it was kinda a bummer that they really did not care. But nowi know and my Children know and i hope they know how special and valuable this info is :)
