I have been working campaigns (Ma. County org.director for Bush.....county campaign chair for Charlie Cs Comissioner of Ed campaign, county chairman of Frank Brogans State Commissioner of ED before that, Charlie Cs county chair for his Attorney Gen campaign) over 24 years. Inevitably I get disappointed when peoples motives for running for political office in the first place get exposed when they lose primaries. Seen it hundreds of times. That is why I always recommend they sit tight a week The good news is that 99% of the voters understand that these endorsements sometimes are sadly made NOT for the person that is best for the position but instead who they believe will continue to allow them to be relevant. Consequently those endorsements hurt their credibility much more than they help the candidate they endorsed. I had made it PUBLIC that I would endorse the person (whether it be Jane, Ed or Jim OR Jamie, Chase or Diane) who was OPPOSING the status quo because our school system is in rough seas and has been for 30 years. Not that my endorsement means a lot BUT I want my friends to know my choice and many are on here. People have been private messaging me reminding me that politicians NEVER are dumb enough to endorse like I am doing because they wont win their next election. Well, I do not consider myself a politician and my next election never enters my mind. That is why I have moved quickly with the time I do have on the board getting the ball rolling for BIG change. LOL Started at my first bd meeting announcing on TV that I am not removing my activist hat just because I have won an election. I was happy 24 years being an education activist and could go back to being that tomorrow. So, is it political suicide to help candidates DEFEAT the status quo? ummmm....maybe IF you are a politician. LOL However, I am doing what God calls me to do (my personal witness) which is to protect the poor, the weak, the widows and the children who have few people in their court so I therefore will gladly risk not being re-elected and prefer living with the knowledge God is smiling down on me and blessing me every day with life for another day to serve him not as a minister but through what he gave me which is the servants heart. Sooooo....on with the show to move Marion County schools up from current ranking of 56th to competing with St.Johns County for first!! Let the march to victory begin AGAINST the status quo where for years administrators/their family have gotten by with things that students would have been expelled for. It is time to clean that place up!! Go Chase and go Jane and God bless the teachers who have somehow survived being the least appreciated employees in Marion County. Help is on the way!!!!
