I have been working in the studio today, and I was listening to the music ‘Heaven and Hell’ by Vangelis. This reminded me of the wonderful American TV series ‘Cosmos; A Personal Voyage’ that used part of this music to start each programme, and in particular it reminded me of the writer and presenter of this series, the scientist Carl Sagan (1934-1996). He was a superb populariser of science and excellent communicator, and it was because of him, and another great American who shared the same traits, Richard Feynman (1918-1988), that I owe my deep interest in science. The sheer wonder of the universe was so beautifully explained by these two extraordinary men. Here’s just a taste of what made them such great communicators (I am sorry if you dont understand English)... First Carl Sagan (this clip is 3.30 seconds long, and it moves me to tears every time I see it) - https://youtube/watch?v=wupToqz1e2g And Richard Feynman (this is 49 minutes long, but it’s worth seeing) - https://youtube/watch?v=Bgaw9qe7DEE
