I have come to a conclusion: Reflecting on that drunk video I posted earlier of Allama Tahir Ashrafi Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council, we place men of religion at the highest level of respect, we think that these men are so connected to God that no wrong can come out of them, while doing so we forget in our society those who become Maulana are the ones who are a failure in other fields. Intelligent & creme of students become doctors, lawyers, engineers, beurucrats, artists, movie makers, entrepreneurs, go to army/navy/air force etc. While those left outs adopt this profession of becoming a Maulana, or either they are sons of some previous known maulana. It is our collective irresponsibility that the likes of the above mentioned become or try to become our religious mentors!! Never have we dared to question these men of faith their moral grounds, their truth, or their activities. We are silent criminals you & I. Their blatant audacity brings shame on us at home and abroad but we stay quiet, watch their hideous ways and let them go scotfree under the garb of Freedom of Expression. Brushing their illegal activities under the carpet will not solve anything, this wrong has brought us to this very day that a drunk Maulana still stays as the Chairman Ulema Council. How can he dictate us on religious matters when he cannot control his own vices, his own indulgence? Similar is the case of Fazlu Rehman aka Diesel and many others like these gentlemen. These preachers are no better than a common criminal and we have let them carry on their criminal activities without ever questioning them. So you tell me how do we set this right?
