I have debated saying anything, but feel someone should be the defender of our kids! And NO this is not geared at any one person, but I have seen a lot of chatter from several so this is my wall and I will express myself here instead of on someone elses wall. I have worked under the UIL system for over 30 years and there have been lots of ups and downs with all of it. Our kids this year find themselves in a tough situation...going into a play off with a low win record. This in no way represents how they have played this year, what type of leadership they have, or how they will play this weekend. They are facing a team that is considered to be a huge contender that will go deep into the playoffs. Believe me ...they know what they are facing! BUT never underestimate the heart of a Tiger. I have stood on the sidelines with these guys almost every Friday night all season...and I have to say they have played with so much heart each week with many Friday nights going home with a loss that did not represent how they played. As they enter that stadium in Gilmer on Friday night, they will go with the heart of a Tiger and they will give you everything they have no matter what the score will be. I will remind you through my 30 years as an educator watching high school football, I have seen many of a game where a winner walked away from the game that was not expected! Regardless of what you believe, a score can change in an instance. I watched a college game this weekend with that very outcome! So with all of this being said...LK Tigers....I believe in you and I am ALWAYS so very proud of you ...win or lose! There are many strong leaders amongst you, lead well that is the mark of the TRUE winner. Stand strong in who YOU are ...not what a record says about you. Most of all....show everyone what it means to be a Tiger! Hugs and love to all of you guys...I am so very proud of you!!!
